Bronze Spearhead

This socketed spearhead is typical of the Heathery Burn tradition metal industry dating to c.8000BC. This Late Bronze AGe metal industry style is the most frequent style of Bronze Age artefact found in northern England (Manby 1980). The style is a regional derivative of the Ewart Park phase of Bronze Age metal artefacts (Darvill 2002).
