At our last Open Day our friends from the Star Carr brought along an auroch’s skull (from a now extinct breed of giant cattle) for visitors to look at. It was a source of interesting discussion as it was recovered from Doggerland, a land mass which now lies under the North Sea.
Archaeologists in Suffolk have found a similar skull but in a context which gives an amazing insight into how our Neolithic ancestors lived their lives.
